Nika
Meet Nika đź–¤
This girl is finding herself back with us at just 1 year old—and before anyone jumps to conclusions, let’s be clear: Nika is a good dog. She just needs the right environment.
Nika is the total package in so many ways:
✔️ Rides great in the car
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ House trained when kept on a schedule
✔️ Knows basic commands (sit!)
✔️ Loves both adventures and couch time
✔️ Gets along well with other dogs and cats.
She’s also done well with kids 99% of the time—but here’s where we advocate for her properly:
👉 Nika has resource guarding tendencies around food and water, especially in high-traffic or chaotic situations.
That means she needs:
✔️ Structure
✔️ Clear boundaries
✔️ An adult-managed environment during feeding times
✔️ Humans who understand that management ≠failure
This is not uncommon. It’s not a “bad dog” issue—it’s a ptsd, handling and environment issue.
Nika would thrive in:
• A home willing to feed separately and manage resources
• Dog-savvy adopters who respect her space when she’s eating/drinking
• A home where she can relax without constant pressure around her valuables
💡 Set her up right, and you’ll get an incredibly loving, fun, loyal companion.
She deserves a home that understands her—not one that expects perfection without guidance.
📩 If you’re the kind of person who believes in setting dogs up to succeed, Nika is waiting.
