Meet Mama Ghost!
Ghost is a beautiful young Pit Bull mix, just over a year old, who came to the shelter as an owner surrender while expecting puppies. After lovingly raising her family, it’s finally Ghost’s turn to find a forever home where she can be the one receiving all the love and attention.
Ghost is potty trained, crate trained, and knows how to sit on command. She’s trustworthy when left out of her crate, provided the trash is secured and food isn’t left on the counters—she occasionally can’t resist a little counter surfing!
With a calm, easygoing personality, Ghost is the perfect mix of laid-back companion and playful best friend. She enjoys a good play session but is just as happy relaxing by your side afterward. One of her favorite things in the world is a good belly rub, and she’ll gladly roll over to soak up every second of the attention. She also loves squeaky toys, durable chew bones, and rubber Kongs. Stuffed toys are another favorite—though they rarely stay stuffed for long!
Having lived as a family dog, Ghost thrives on human companionship. She is incredibly affectionate, loves to cuddle, and always wants to be close to her people. While she hasn’t been around very young children, she has done wonderfully with teenagers, happily playing, snuggling, and enjoying all the attention they have to give.
Ghost has done well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship, though slow, thoughtful introductions are recommended. Since she was caring for puppies during her foster stay, it’s difficult to know if her initial caution was simply protective mama instincts. Once she’s comfortable, she’s playful, friendly, and also perfectly content to relax alongside another dog. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.
On walks, Ghost starts out excited and may pull initially, especially if she spots another dog, as they can be very distracting for her. With patience, consistency, and continued leash practice, she’s making great progress.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who loves belly rubs, cuddle time, and being part of the family, Ghost is ready to fill that role. She’s patiently waiting for the forever home she truly deserves.
