Zues

Zues

He’s going to be available through blessedbethebullies.com once he’s well — but as you can see, it’s going to be a minute.

Sometimes we say yes to dogs even when we don’t have a plan.

Sometimes we say yes because we know it’s the right thing to do.

And sometimes we say yes because the suffering a dog has endured for their entire life needs to end.

Zeus came to us as an owner surrender.

Read that again. This dog was owned by somebody.

This isn’t a stray.

This isn’t a dog from the south.

This is a dog from right here in our own communities. And this is where we struggle a little bit.

Because we want to applaud people who reach out for help.

We want to be an asset to our community. But at the same time we look at this dog… and we are angry. We’re angry for every moment this dog has suffered without care. We’re angry that his help didn’t come sooner. And we’re angry that anyone could profess to love this dog and let him suffer the way it’s so evident he has. Now we focus on what comes next.

Zeus needs a foster close to the Bangor area so his ongoing medical care can be managed. If you can step up and open your home for this boy, please reach out.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do for a dog is simply give them a safe place to land.
