Wheeler is a handsome young tripod looking for a fresh start and a family willing to help him continue building confidence.

Born approximately 05/08/25, Wheeler is neutered, up to date on vaccines, housebroken, and ready to find a home that understands that sometimes the most rewarding dogs need a little extra patience.

Despite having only three legs, Wheeler doesn’t let anything slow him down. He loves to zoom around the yard, chew on a good Nylabone, and then curl up for a nap. He’s a medium-to-high energy boy who enjoys playtime but is equally happy spending the day relaxing near his people. Once he bonds with someone, he becomes a loyal shadow who wants to be wherever they are.

Wheeler rides well in the car after settling in, is food motivated, learns quickly, knows “sit” and “down,” tolerates baths and nail trims, and has done well with cats after a proper introduction. He is currently maintained on fluoxetine and thrives with routine and consistency.

Wheeler is looking for an experienced adopter who can continue working on his confidence and leash skills. He can be sensitive to loud noises, sudden movements, and unfamiliar situations. Because of this, we feel he would do best in a home with older children (12+) or an adult-only home.

He has lived with other dogs and can enjoy their company, but due to some unpredictable interactions, we believe he may be happiest as an only dog or with a very experienced owner who can carefully manage introductions and interactions.

Wheeler isn’t looking for perfection—just someone willing to see the sweet, goofy, affectionate boy behind the uncertainty. The right home will give him the structure, reassurance, and understanding he needs to truly shine.
