TANGO UPDATE!

Our little man did well during surgery! So the recovery begins!

UPDATE :

Earlier today we had hopeful news they might be able to save the leg and resect a portion of the foot and close the wound, unfortunately they won’t be the case.

I just gave the green light for amputation. While under anesthesia they did an X-ray - only to discover he likely had been shot in his knee at some point and didn’t have full function in his leg as a result of the old injury. The combination of that injury and a compromised foot would have led to a mobility compromised dog as he aged so we are proceeding whth amputation.

“We got a desperate call for help last night. A young pup caught in barbed wire hanging from a fence.

We have no idea how long he was stuck, but he started to chew his own foot off in an attempt to save himself.
