Roger

Roger

“I'm writing to you with an urgent request for one of the most deserving, yet overlooked, dogs in our care: a magnificent, three-year-old male pitbull named Roger. Our shelter is at capacity, and to put it simply, Roger is fading in this environment. We need your help to get him out of the noise and stress and into a foster or adoptive home immediately.

Roger is a handsome, three year old, 67 lb neutered male, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines. He had been abandoned over two years ago and was found tethered to a piece of furniture when his owner moved out.

He is initially timid with new people. However, once he feels safe he warms up beautifully into a genuinely sweet, affectionate companion. He has so much love to give, but he needs a quiet space to let his true personality shine.

Roger has faced significant challenges. He has undergone two separate CCL surgeries, which means his activity level had been understandably restricted for a long time. This medical history is crucial, as it had limited his opportunities for proper socialization.

Because of his recovery time, Roger is a little behind the curve when it comes to dog-dog interactions. He is currently dog selective and will require a slow, careful introduction to any potential canine siblings, 🚫🐱, or, ideally, an only-dog home for the time being. This is a temporary barrier that, with consistent training and a stable environment, we believe he can overcome.

Please, look at your availability to pull Roger. He is not a broken dog; he is a dog who has had a rough start and needs a quiet corner and a patient hand to become the incredible family dog we know he can be.

Can you make a spot for Roger and give this very good boy the soft landing he desperately needs? Please let me know!

Thank you for everything you do”
