Meet Poundcake (aka Sunnie)🐾

At just about 17 months old, this handsome boy is still very much a puppy at heart—full of love, learning, and a little bit of “I’m still figuring life out.”

He’s a total snuggle bug once he feels safe, but don’t be fooled—he’s also got a playful side and loves romping around with other dogs. A confident canine friend in the home would be a huge bonus for him!

Now let’s talk about what he really needs to succeed:

👉 He’s a sensitive soul.

New environments, loud noises, vacuums, and even hats can be a little overwhelming. He is especially nervous around men, so he’s looking for a patient home that will help him build confidence at his own pace.

👉 He’s not a fan of the crate.

Crate training hasn’t been his thing, and he will need someone willing to work with him (or manage without one).

👉 House training is a work in progress.

He will go outside, but may still have accidents inside—consistency and routine will be key here.

👉 Car rides aren’t his favorite.

They make him nervous right now, but with time and positive exposure, this can improve.

The good news?

✨ He’s great with kids

✨ He’s dog-friendly and loves to play

✨ He’s affectionate, sweet, and wants to bond with his people

✨ He knows a few basics like sit and come—he just needs someone to keep building on that foundation

✨ often times behavior is environmental….Let’s keep in mind.

Cats? He finds them a little too fun, so a no-cat home would be best.

His ideal home:

A patient, understanding adopter who sees his potential and is willing to guide him through these last puppy stages. A calmer environment (especially with fewer loud surprises) and possibly a confident dog buddy would help him truly thrive.
