Five-year-old Ellie’s story almost took a very different turn. She was found wandering near some railroad tracks by two kind-hearted young girls who picked her up and planned to take her to the shelter. Thankfully, they made a social media post first, and that’s how Ellie found her way into rescue.

When I first met her, I thought we’d be able to find her a home quickly. Unfortunately, Ellie tested heartworm positive. But we weren’t giving up on her. She completed her slow-kill heartworm treatment like a champ and is now officially heartworm negative and ready for her forever family! ❤️

Ellie is house-trained, affectionate, and absolutely loves her people. She happily goes outside to potty alongside her little dog friends and enjoys being part of the family. While she gets along well with other dogs, she prefers companions who are respectful and calm. If another dog gets too rambunctious or invades her personal space, Ellie isn’t afraid to politely let them know she’d rather keep things peaceful.

This sweet girl has waited patiently for her second chance, and she deserves a home where she can finally relax and be loved forever. She has the perfect mix of affection, maturity, and companionship that makes her an easy dog to fall in love with.

I absolutely adore this girl, and I know someone out there is going to be very lucky to call her theirs. ❤️
