Some dogs carry scars that can’t be seen. Cashus is one of them.

You might recognize his name – Cashus went viral when people saw the heartbreaking conditions he was forced to live in. Stuck behind a fence 24/7 with nothing but a single doghouse to share between two dogs, he survived on scraps thrown over the fence just a few times a week. His ribs showed, his skin was raw, and yet… because Maine law was technically being followed, no one could help him.

He was invisible. Forgotten. Neglected. 💔

At last, his owner surrendered him, and Cashus finally has a chance. He’s slowly gaining weight, healing from parasites and malnutrition, and learning what it feels like to be cared for. Soon he’ll be neutered, but what he needs most is something he has never had: a family who will love him unconditionally.

Cashus has lost so much time, but his eyes still hold hope. Hope that someone will look past the suffering he’s endured and see the loyal, gentle soul waiting underneath.
